The Health of my Countenance

Ever had one of those days when you just didn’t feel up to much of anything? Well this morning the enemy offer such a day. But of course by the time I got half way through my time in worship and praise the old scoundrel had moved on. The words of Psalm 42:11 were brought to my attention: Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. The health of my countenance; by praising him I am lifted above circumstances and thought patterns, once the patterns change in my thought process the countenance changed, (and a whole lot of other stuff too). Praising him does a body good.

Thanks for that encouragement. I needed to hear it today. I often foret that when I open my eyes I should begin to give God praise right away. I don't need to wait til my feet hit the floor or while I am in the shower because guess who is waiting to ATTACK! As I began to praise Him and worship Him the enemy had no other choice but to flee. A dose of Jesus when we open our eyes is like medicine to our soul. Be Blessed
